Part of Sweden's Scana Industrier ASA group, Scana Subsea provides key products for subsea and riser applications around the world, including riser, XT and BOP products.
While the Scana Subsea name is comparatively new, the company is one of the most experienced specialists when it comes to riser applications in the oil and gas industry. Scana Subsea is a Swedish-registered limited liability company based in Kristinehamn, Sweden. Operational from 1 July 2009, it is part of the Scana Industrier ASA group and was created to improve the parent company's focus on products for subsea and riser applications.
Scana Subsea uses high-quality forgings from Scana Steel divisions alongside its design, machining, welding, coating, material development and assembly resources. All the company's manufacturing is carried out by the steel-producing companies within the Scana group and with established external partners.
Scana Subsea supports subsea companies with products specially designed for increasingly deep waters and corrosive surroundings. As a member of the Scana group, it has access to the resources and expertise of other group companies that specialise in: forgings for all relevant steel types and sizes (Scana Steel Björneborg, Scana Steel Stavanger, Scana Steel Söderfors); design and advanced surface treatment (Scana Offshore Vestby); and material development (Scana Materials Technology Centre). Scana Subsea delivers products to the oil and gas industry within three segments:
As well as the above list, material engineering and metallurgical competence are part of Scana Subsea's product portfolio. The company supplies components with different degrees of completion, depending on customer requirements, and its products are often key components in customer operations. To further strengthen the quality of its products, Scana Subsea places an emphasis on research and development, and has an ongoing cooperation with research institutes in Sweden.
Scana Subsea's dedicated team can offer applications to oil companies and system/product suppliers worldwide, with the US representing the largest market. The North Sea, Brazil and South-East Asia are also important regions. The company understands the latest needs within the oil and gas industry and works hard to be the first choice for its customers.
